Yasumi was born in 1945 and known as Taizo Ishihara; among other names as posted on the IMDB website entry. He started with Mushi production on promotion before going to TMS in 1973. Yasumi's profile has expanded a lot since the last time I updated this post: Blocker Gundan IV Machine Blaster in 1976, Brave Raideen (1975), Dokaben: Road To Koshien (1977). Besides Cardcaptors, Naruto Shippuden and Detective Conan, he has worked on Monster Rancher, Let's Go Quintuplets!, Kochikame, the Bomberman anime series, Kappa Maki & The Sushi Kids, Black Jack Special: The 4 Miracles Of Life, New Doraemon, New Take It! Anpanman, Ninja Kids seasons 12-16, Dandoh!!, Sgt. Keroro, Fantastic Children, Bakugan Battle Brawlers, Tytania, Astro Boy (2003), Strawberry 100%, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, Shakugan No Shana II and most recently: Riddle Story Of Devil and Majin Bone in 2014. Yasumi Mikamoto started as an assistant director for Dokonjo Kaeru (The Gutsy Frog) in 1973 and then followed up Uchu Senkan Yamato as assistant director (Starblazers in America) in 1974. He then worked with TMS in the late 1970's with Lupin III: Part II in 1977 and did mostly director work for The Super Dimension Century Orguss, Sugata Sanshiro, Hello! Spank, Minami-ke, Jarinko-Che!, Future GPX Cyber Formula and two mainstream shows: Cardcaptors Sakura and Detective Conan (Case Closed in America). Other than that; his most recent work is with the Naruto Shippuden series. His American work comprised of Visionaires: Knights of the Magical Light, The Rainbow Brite television series, and eight productions from Goodtimes Entertainment released during the mid 1990s (all of them based on public domain material ala Disney feature only with cheaper animation.). He also worked with Saburo on Dennis The Menace and The Real Ghostbusters.
