"Once Upon a Happy Ending" is the second segment of the twenty-eighth episode of The Book of Pooh.
Synopsis[]
Mr. Narrator accidentally skips to the end of the story where we find Tigger stuck in a tree. In search for answers, he goes back to the beginning to find Tigger diligently chasing an acorn around the Hundred Acre Wood for Piglet.
Plot[]
The story supposedly starts with Tigger hanging from a tree with honey pots stuck to his paws and a pair of binoculars. Both he and Mr. Narrator are initially confused, but the latter soon realizes he mistakenly skipped to the end of the story and backtracks to the beginning to find out what happened. As Tigger was bouncing, he comes across Piglet wanting an acorn from up a tree. He bounces up the tree and gets it down, but it hits Piglet's head and rolls away. Piglet tells Tigger it is okay if he wants to give up, but Tigger expresses in song how he will go through great lengths to help his friends, then Piglet joins in saying he would do the same. Tigger gets a pair of binoculars to help search for the acorn, but he does not see it on a rock near his feet and mistakenly kicks it. It lands at Pooh's house in one of his piles of honey pots. Tigger catches up and asks Pooh about the acorn, but Pooh is unsure which pot it landed in. Tigger searches the pots, getting two of them stuck to his paws in the process. While trying to free the pots, he accidentally kicks the one with the acorn, which sends the acorn flying again and landing in Rabbit's garden. Rabbit finds it and throws it away before Tigger can stop him. It ends up back at the tree it came from. Tigger is about to bounce for it, but then remembers how the story ends and refuses. However, he hits a thorn bush, which makes him jump in surprise and end up stuck in the tree anyway. Mr. Narrator discovers there is one page left where Pooh, Rabbit and Piglet help Tigger down. Tigger is nonetheless disappointed at having not retrieved the acorn, but at that moment, it falls into Piglet's hand. Piglet wonders how it got back to the tree, which Tigger promises to tell him about after a nap.
Later, Tigger is hanging from the tree again, but on purpose this time, as he and Mr. Narrator recap the events of this and the previous story.
